Catering

For catering, we encourage you to book at least 7 days prior to your event by calling us at (717) 419-1337. If we don’t pick up, just leave a message someone will give you call back. Please keep in mind the more notice we have, the better. Because BBQ (low and slow), we can’t always accommodate last minute orders, but give us a call as we are always willing to try.

For catering, our meats are priced by the pound, our ribs by rack, and our wings by the dozen. We also offer BBQ sliders (priced by the dozen) and our fried chicken (by the bucket). Our soups and sides are available in quart sizes. Our catering menu can be found here (please note this is subject to change) or just give us a call for the most up-to-date menu.

Frequently Asked Questions about Catering

  • How do I book catering?

Please give us a call at least 7 days prior to your event. The more notice we have the better. Because of the nature of smoked BBQ (we smoke our meat for 24 hours), we can’t always take large last minute orders. But please give us a call as we’d love the opportunity to try to accommodate your needs.

30% deposit of estimated bill is required to book.

Please note that a 6% PA sales tax will be added to all orders.

  • Do you deliver catering orders?

At this time, we are not offering delivery.

  • May I make changes to my catering order?

We are happy to take any changes during office hours with at least 48-hour notice. Please note that because of the nature of smoked BBQ (low and slow), we can’t always accommodate changes. So the more time we have, the more likely we can make the change.

  • Is there a fee for cancellations?

    • 30-days notice or more: No fee is charged for cancellations with at least 30-day notice.
    • 29-days to 3-days: Charge of 50% of the invoice total for orders canceled between 3-29 days of the event;
    • 48 hours or less: 100% of the invoice will be charged for orders canceled within 48 hours of the event.

  • Are additional supplies available – napkins, chafing dishes, serving utensils?

Available upon request for an additional fee

    • Paper Supplies (Plates/Bowls/Cups)
    • Napkins
    • Utensils
    • Catering Kits – Disposable Chaffing Dishes and Sternos, with Serving Utensils.

Smokehouse BBQ and Brews at Plain & Fancy can provide a recommendation for how many kits would be needed to accommodate the once menu and guest count estimate is final.

  • How much do I need to order?

Smokehouse BBQ and Brews at Plain & Fancy is happy to provide a recommendation for the amount of food to accommodate your guest count.

However, here is a good rule of thumb.

We suggest ordering is 8 oz of meat per person:

    Thus,

1 meat = 8 oz. per meat per person

2 meats = 4 oz. per meat per person

3 meats = 3 oz. per meat per person

Keep in mind there is 16 oz. to a 1 lb.

For sides, we suggest you have 1 quart for every 3 people.

We cannot accept changes, cancellations, or confirmations through voicemail. You will receive an invoice for your order that will be adjusted with any confirmed changes.
